SPRING Folk Dance // Bal Folk

Hi! Join us for another "Bal Folk" in Guelph. European Folk Dancing with a focus on French traditional music and dance! Fun group and partner dances.
No partner or experience necessary! The dances will be taught in advance at the workshop and you can jump in during the "Bal" too!
Approx. Schedule:
7pm - Doors open
7:15-7:45pm - Intro Workshop to Bal Folk dances
8pm-9:30pm Social Dance "Bal Folk" with the Duo Gowan Stam
(Hurdy Gurdy player Alison Gowan visiting from Quebec with Guelph Based Fiddler Emilyn Stam)
After Party Bal Folk Jam at La Poche (come join in on the tunes, have a drink and listen to the jam, and/or keep dancing!)
Feel free to bring a snack for the potluck snack table! Please, nothing that might stain their beautiful maple floor :)
IMPORTANT NOTES:
**Outdoor shoes are not permitted in the Guelph Youth Dance Studio. Please bring non-scuff indoor runners or your favourite holiday socks to dance in!
**The outside doors to Guelph Youth Dance Studio must remain locked. Please plan to arrive between 7pm and 8pm when we will have someone there to let you in. If you arrive after 8pm, there will be a number you can call that you will receive after purchasing your ticket.

The dance hall is on the top floor, up a couple flights of stairs. There is an elevator if needed; please contact us ahead of time to arrange use of the elevator.
