Come join us for a Cinco de Mayo Fiesta fundraiser at Foothill Restaurant on Monday, May 5 from 5 8 p.m.! Tickets cost $100 and include food, beer, wine, and specialty drinks, and attendees will be able to bid on valuable prizes in a silent auction. All proceeds will support the programs and wraparound services that directly benefit the students of Learning Works. Foothill Restaurant is located at 2835 E. Foothill Blvd. in Pasadena.
What is Learning Works?
Learning Works is a school providing a personalized, rigorous academic program and relevant life skills to traditionally underserved Pasadena-area students in grades 6 12 who have withdrawn or are in danger of withdrawing from mainstream education without attaining a high school diploma. Learning Works employs alternative methods and practices to mitigate the issues that prevent our students from pursuing their high school diplomaincluding substance abuse, teen pregnancy, homelessness, domestic violence, neurodivergence, etc.and allows them to focus on their education in their own time and on their own terms. Since the school was started in 2008, we have graduated 1,253 young people who would not have otherwise earned their high school diploma. We are partner with Pasadena Unified School District and Homeboy Industries.
