Sayed Kashua will be on Berkeley campus screening the film A Borrowed Identity on 2/22. Prior to that event, he and Miryam Sas will read from new writings and have a conversation about liminal identities and the limits of comparison. Kashua's work often focuses on the dilemmas of identity of Israeli Arabs, with issues of assimilation, language, and cultural placement. Sas is working on narrative nonfiction about Jews in Poland and Galicia during World War II.
The event will be held in 4337 Dwinelle Hall (Comparative Literature Library), on the UC Berkeley campus. |
